Monster Hunter Tri Review

I have just started playing Monster Hunter Tri for the Wii and I am pretty pleased so far. You get to make your own hunter, upgrade your weapons and armor by gathering resources and various items, and items can be combined to make more useful items. The head farmer is a cat that has a pet pig that u can cuddle with or dress up in different costumes lol. Some faults of the game I would say is that every character on the game talks about anything and everything making you have to read a lot. And the elongated swing of your weapons which makes hitting small quick monsters nearly impossible gets pretty frustrating. Other than that it was a pretty good game.

Globaloria Survey

Today in class we had to fill out a survey for Globaloria that mostly just asked us questions like what we like and dislike about the class and what we have learned from this class.

Team Page

Today in class I made my team page under my team called "Slappy the Clown." I still need to get an avatar for my team, but for the most part I have most of my game demo file part filled out.

Uploading our Prototypes

Today in class we got our paper prototypes and uploaded them to viddler. After uploading my prototype I noticed a major flaw. On the main menu for my game I accidentally put "Name that State" instead of "Name that Capital." Other than that i think my prototype was alright. After we uploaded them to viddler we added them to our wiki and created teams if we didn't have one yet.

Paper Prototype

Today in class we made any changes we needed to our paper prototypes and we have to have them filmed by tuesday. My paper prototype is comming along pretty good. I have a storyboard and I just need to put it on notecards and make it neater. Incase you are wondering, the final product for my game is going to be called "Name that Capital." The game is pretty simple there are 25 multiple choice questions asking you to name the capital of any U.S. state.

Round One

The first round NCAA men's basketball Tounament Kicked off yesterday with many big upsets. The Big East was 1/3 in thursdays matchups with Villanova barely sneaking past Robert Morris in overtime. Today at 12:15 ET the 2 seeded West Virginia takes on Morgan St. I think that the mountaineers will easily get past the bears by at least 15 points.

New Game Idea

I have came up with a new game idea cuz i don't like my old one anymore lol. So I have decided to make my game sort of like a game show. The game is played by spinning the wheel to select a topic. All the topics, along with the questions, will be educational and if you get a question right you get more money. I still need to work out some kinks but i should have a paper prototype ready by next week for it.

Penguins

How bout dem pengins? I am a big penguins hockey fan and Evgeni Malkin's top shelf power play shot to win the game in overtime last night was amazing. The Pens had 55 shots on goal, setting a new club road record.

Minigame

The carrot and the hare

My minigame project is coming along, it is still a work in progress.... I'm still trying to figure out how to use code to get it to do the things I want it to do. I still need to put a scoring system in and a bunch of other things.

Game Idea

This is an idea inspired by the sacrifices made by firefighters in their everyday line of work. The objective of the game is to save as many people as you can from a burning building by moving from side to side with a catchblanket. Its pretty simple, if someone hits the ground then you lose a life. If you lose 3 lives then the game is over. The game gradually gets harder with many levels and a level is completed when the allotted time runs out.

Game Review 2

The second game I played was "The Cost of Life." The game is about a family of 5 living in rural haiti and trying to pursue happiness. The objective of the game is to keep your family alive, get an education, and stay healthy and happy which is pretty hard in this game. You face challenges like disease, severe weather, and extreme poverty. When I played everyone in the family except for the father died and he was barely alive. The overall goal for making this game was to show people how hard the people in rural Haiti have it and their everyday struggle to survive.

Game Review 1

My impression of the game "September 12th" is that it is designed to make a statement about the war. The people who made the game wanted to say that it is wrong to go bomb Afganistan after the events of 9/11. The point being made is that by just bombing the country to get rid of the evil terrorists, innocent civilians are also getting killed in the process.

First Day

On the first day of class we got a syllabus, learned how to blog, and made our own blogs. In case you are wondering, I am just now posting this blog 2 weeks later because I was having problems with my e-mail on the first day.
